Reno Disc Golf Association

Disc Golf comes to Reno

Welcome to the Reno Disc Golf Association

The Reno Disc Golf Association was founded in 2007 by local disc golf enthusiast, Michael Jacobus as a 501c3, non-profit corporation with the express purpose of bringing Disc Golf to Reno and the Truckee Meadows.

After playing the course at Truckee Regional Park with his kids, Jacobus contacted his friend and Reno City Councilman, Dwight Dortch who agreed that disc golf would be a wonderful addition to Reno but that the city didn't have enough open park space to accommodate a full 18 hole course. Dortch suggested contacting the Washoe County Parks Department and the rest is, as they say, HISTORY!

The RDGA worked to construct The Ranch in cooperation with the Washoe County Parks and Open Space Department, The Friends of Wilbur May Foundation and the Washoe Board of County Commissioners.

Course Completed!!

Today, my vision of an 18-hole disc golf course in Reno is a reality!

It has been my great pleasure to work with so many wonderful volunteers and community representatives during the past 4 years from concept to completion.  I'd like to send a special THANK YOU  to the folks listed below for their help, support and often tireless involvement for without them, The Ranch ~ Disc Golf Course might truly never have materialized;
